Friday 10 #5
Sunday’s on the phone to Monday, Tuesday’s on the phone to me.
Last week four people guessed seven lyrics, and very quickly, too.
Both of the songs from this century (yes, I said “this century”) went unidentified. “The Straight Line Was a Lie” had just come out and probably needs to be more popular than it is. The unidentified song from the 70s, “Be Thankful for What You Got,” came out in 1974 and may have popularized the term “Gangsta Lean.”
That gangsta lean may look cool, but you better sit up straight, buckle your seatbelt, and keep your hands at 10 & 2 (or 8 & 4). This set of lyrics will give you serious genre whiplash.
Remember:
- No searching
- I need both the song title and the artist.
- Covers I can reasonably be expected to recognize I will count.
That third rule is particularly important this week, since one of the songs once had four different versions on the chart in the same week.
Have fun! Then give my brother’s a try
