I’m not from here, I just live here
Grew up somewhere far away
Crowds assemble, they hang out awhile, then they melt away like an early snow.

John Williams / Thudfactor After a one-week hiatus I’m back with another ten lyrics for you to guess. The answers from two weeks ago are now finally up. We had seven of ten guessed then. The three not guessed were:
- “Coolin’ by day then at night working up a sweat.” Push It, Salt-N-Pepa (1986)
- “I’m the perfect mix of Saturday night and the rest of your life. Anyone with a heart would agree!” So Easy (to Fall in Love), Olivia Dean (2025)
- “Shall we do a little key? Shall we have a little line?” 365, Charli xcx (2024)
Last week I was on vacation in the Outer Banks. We almost always go out-of-season, but this time it was just barely; the crowds were assembling on the run-up to memorial day weekend. I’m always glad to go, but I’m always glad to come back to the mountains where it’s less flat.
But! I’m back on the routine again now. Here’s ten more lyrics for you to identify. It’s been a while, so here’s a rules refresher:
The rules
- Put the song title and artist in the comments below. I do accept anonymous comments.
- I’ll accept cover artists as well.
- But don’t go looking up the lyrics before guessing. That’s cheating.
